Adopt-a-Pot Program

Hurley Pots

Before
After

The cast iron pots were originally part of a restoration project in the early 80’s during the initial downtown Hay Street revitalization efforts carried out by Mayor Bill Hurley.  The pots aid in maintaining the historical ambiance of downtown by echoing the historical architectural features, such as the street lamps and fixtures.

Fayetteville Beautiful is partnering with the City of Fayetteville on this project.  We invite you to take part in our efforts to beautify our downtown.  Your commitment, through adoption, will ensure that the pot and its contents are maintained in an attractive way.  We ask that you keep your pot litter free for a one year period.  After this timeframe you may re-adopt your pot.  Please report maintenance issues to Fayetteville Beautiful.

There is no charge for adopting a Hurley Pot.  Donations are gladly accepted to help cover the cost of plants, the beautiful topiaries and other needed materials.

There are 3 sizes of Hurley Pots available for adoption:  Small, Medium and Large.

  • Large pots:  topiary bushes
  • Medium pots:  sculptured bushes
  • Small pots:  sculptured bushes or spike plants

In addition, each pot will have cascading ivy and blue and white flowers during the summer and pansies in the winter.

You will receive a framed Adoption Certificate to display.  You may name your pot with the first name of your choice or one will be chosen for you if you desire.   All Hurley Pots will maintain the last name of “Hurley.”  Each Hurley Pot and their guardian will be featured on the Fayetteville Beautiful Web site.

We thank these businesses, organizations and individuals for keeping Fayetteville Beautiful.
